FrameMaker is software from the American company Adobe for word processing and desktop publishing. This program can be used to write and edit large and complex documents. In fact, this program is intended to make the work of professional writers easier. FrameMaker was added to Adobe products when Frame Technology was acquired by Adobe. After that, Adobe added SGML support to the previous software, which also supports the XML format. In 2004, support for Macintosh was discontinued as per company policy. FrameMaker has two documentation approaches: one structural and one non-structural and free.

Structure mode is used in documents bound to a set of standards and specific templates, for example in the pharmaceutical industry, where translation and standardization are one of the key requirements for logical communication between products.
